A question that will come up one these old Globe slicers is how to remove the Knife Guard

Here is an answere we responded to a fellow the other day

The blade guard is what you are tring to remove.

It has a post that runs thru the back of the guard all the way thru.
now on the old guys they have a plate that covers the area it is about 2" tall and the top is a half moon shape remove that and you will see the post and a 1/2" nut on it remove the nut and the guard will come out.

It may want to stay in it's home since it has been in there a while but it will come out

When you get the guard off you will see where it sit's do not remove any of the brass shims that is what keeps the the blade guard from rubbing on the blade.
